Events

"These are our upcoming events that our nonprofit organization will be hosting out of Sherwood Park and surrounding areas. The Indigenous culture is used in most programming and services for training and development. To provide a direct service to bridge gaps and break barriers between the Indigenous population and western society" -Anishnawbe Giikenimowgaywin

Our Team

Our Mission & Vision

Our History

Our amazing team of volunteers at our nonprofit organization is committed to helping others. Sherwood Park for years has lacked Indigenous culture, and an Indigenous voice. We take our convictions and turn them into action. Think you would be a good fit? See our form below for more information! All volunteers obtain training and development in cultural awareness through Anishnawbe Giikenimowgaywin.

Our History

Our Mission & Vision

Our History

Daniel Sakchekapo, Executive Director and Founder of Anishnawbe Giikenimowgaywin, 2009. Has been working for many years to educate and inform the general public of Indigenous culture & training and development. He has over 18+ years of learning ancient teachings off one of the last remaining Elder's. Daniel has had many experiences in Sherwood Park, some good, some not so good. This is why he chose to base the nonprofit agency in Sherwood Park to fight for the day where Indigenous people won't be afraid of letting the community know, they are Indigenous!
